[attr="class","itemcoltext"]You find yourselves in the Hoenn desert. However, upon scrutinizing the area, you realize this is not the Hoenn of modern day. The people around you look like they belong to an old civilization. Busily, they work at constructing what appears to be a temple or tomb among the great dunes of this place.[break][break]

When asked, a worker says, "We are creating a great protector. Eons ago, a great star fell from the heavens and landed here. We are finally able to harness its power. Go. Take a look!"[break][break]

You enter the incomplete tomb to see a large chunk of some unknown purple material. Red veins pulse throughout it like blood—or poison. It emanates a great power. Before it, several boulders are set against each other.

The Hoenn desert...[break][break]

Genny's certain of it. Same landmarks... but from a time far gone. Work done on a big temple or tomb. The heat is omni-present, having Genny ditch her Ranger jacket. Her undershirt letting her midriff breathe, as she looks around.[break][break]

"Excuse me-" she asks a worker, a person from way back, working on an incomplete tomb. Her face pulses with uncertainty and curiosity. But when they say go to the tomb... Genny finds herself less than thrilled to go alone.[break][break]

Rubbing at her head, she up at the massive tomb they had... taking a breath in. What she'd give for someone else to join her right about now...

Luka finds herself at a similar loss.[break][break]

She has no idea what she's supposed to do here, not really. The few people she's encountered, dressed in old-fashioned clothes and with accents she can't quite place, have all pointed towards the tombs and told of falling stars. And although it's a lead, following their advice still puts Luka on edge.[break][break]

The desert heat makes her uncomfortable— it's chilly back in Hoenn, but she'd much rather brave the cold than scorching heat. And rather than expecting some kind of yeti to lurch out of a snow-covered landscape, the desert and the mysterious tomb she's supposed to be investigating could house any number of unfamiliar dangers.[break][break]

So it's with no small amount of trepidation that she enters the tomb. The temperature here is far colder, almost musty. Even though it's freshly built, there's a sort of staleness to the air that reminds her of something very old. Luka frowns, but then brightens as she sees someone else inside, whose dress is far more modern and seems just as out of place as she is.[break][break]

"Hello?" she speaks softly, so as not to startle her. "I'm here to— w-well, actually, I'm not sure. They just said, um, to come see a fallen star..."[break][break]

Her gaze falls upon the relic in question: a large purple chunk that looks far unlike the kind of star she was picturing. But then again, very few hunks of space rock actually look like the konpeito shapes that she had imagined. And even though it's not what she had expected, there's something compelling about the star. Something that makes her want to reach out and touch it...

The jubilation of someone else appearing, as Genny swerves back. It's a familiar face. One she recalls from the swamps near Fortree, and... the masquerade? Her smile grows bigger by the second, as she bounces on her heels.[break][break]

"I remember you!" She moves closer. This was a chance encounter! She was here the same reason Genny was! Now to make the best first impression. "Yeah! They said come here for the fallen star!" she turns on her heel and sees the purple chunk... a compulsion to touch it.[break][break]

She holds a hand out for her. "Glad to finally meet you! My name's Genevieve... want to get closer?" she inquires, glossy lips curved ever so much upwards, pure gumdrops and rainbows on her face.

”Eh? O-oh! I’m glad you remembered!”[break][break]

She’s startled, but pleasantly so. Truthfully, Luka doesn’t think of herself as the type to leave much of an impression.[break][break]

”I’m Luka,” she says, taking the offered hand with an easy, practiced smile. Somehow, the formalities help put her at ease. ”And I do…this is it, right?”[break][break]

The pair step closer, and with the closing distance comes the nagging urge to touch the star in front of them. Idly, Luka finds herself wishing she had a nice, thick pair of gloves between herself and the rock. But she’d rather sacrifice herself to some weird space disease than the sweet girl at her side, so after a moment of hesitance she reaches out to gingerly lay her hand on the star.

In the process, a fragment from the ETERNATUS' BODY falls toward the earth...[break][break]

All of you come to and see that the mysterious material is pulsing. With every pulse, the purple chunk begins to manipulate the spatial elements of reality around it and yourselves. Paranoia begins to settle in... before the scenario shifts.
